Christina Massey

We are very excited to feature the amazing sculptures and installations created with repurposed materials by Christina Massey! We love that she creates these pieces with reused materials to create compositions of color, texture, and shine!

Christina Massey is a mixed media artist working in sculpture, painting, printmaking and collage. Her works incorporate everything from re-purposed textiles to re-purposed aluminum craft beer cans and often even her own past artworks to create colorful abstract works heavy in pattern complex in form. Heavily influenced by "craft" and the language and debate between fine art and craft, her work utilizes many textile techniques like hand stitching and weaving combined with painting, printmaking and glass blowing.

Massey's work has been exhibited extensively in over a dozen solo exhibitions including with the Noyes Art Museum, Rush Arts Galleries, Brown University and abroad in cities such as London, Toronto and Tokyo. She has won multiple awards for her work including most recently the SIP Fellowship and the EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, Puffin Foundation Grant, Mayer Foundation Grant and Merit Scholarship at Urban Glass. Massey's work can be found in multiple private and public collections including the Janent Turner Museum and Credit Suisse. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
